The Shure SM58se is the most widely used dynamic vocal microphone, and the best known for stage use. It offers proven robustness, tight frequency response, and excellent vocal and instrument reproduction. This SE version is identical to the classic Shure SM58, except that it also has an On/Off switch, which allows you to mute the microphone and quickly correct any errors. The Shure SM58SE has a cardioid directional capsule, which allows the source in front of the microphone to be picked up with perfect rejection of surrounding noise, and avoids feedback. There are many competitors, but none that match it.
