The VP88 is a stereo M/S microphone suitable for live sound reinforcement and studio recording. It incorporates two static capsules, one cardioid and one bi-directional, allowing for 3 stereo openings via internal matrixing, or M-S recording via external matrixing.It is unique in its ability to capture and reproduce the realism of a live event as well as its ease of adaptation to difficult production conditions.The first capsule (Mid) is forward-facing to capture sound from the centreline using a cardioid pickup pattern. The other (Side) is bi-directional, so it captures sound from both sides.The VP88 contains an internal M/S matrix with three settings to fine-tune the degrees of separation of the stereo image.
