The e608 has a new clamp and gooseneck arrangement, which allows the capsule to be placed close to the signal source for high realism and high level output. Extensive damping and shock isolation isolates the capsule and signal from vibration, noise and impact, and the hum compensation coil protects against induced electrical interference. A high-strength fiberglass housing protects the capsule from impact damage. The microphone shall be a super-cardioid dynamic instrument designed for drums, percussion, brass and wind instruments. It shall have a rugged fibreglass-reinforced body and an extremely robust connection cable with a lockable 3.5 mm jack plug. The microphone shall have a flexible gooseneck for positioning close to the signal source and shall be equipped with a shock-mounted capsule and hum compensation coil. The frequency response shall be 40 Hz to 16,000 Hz and the sensitivity (free field, no load) shall be 0.8 mV/P at 1 kHz. The nominal impedance shall be 250 Ω, with a minimum termination impedance of 1 kΩ. Dimensions shall be 17 x 185 mm (0.67" x 7.28"). Weight should be approximately 20 grams (0.71 oz). The microphone should be the Sennheiser e 608.
