d:facto II Vocal offers a slight treble boost compared to the VL (very linear) version. This is a high-frequency presence boost (a slight 3 dB increase around 12 kHz) that adds clarity and intelligibility to the voice. The D:facto II 4018 microphones reproduce the voice transparently and reliably, with the desired impact and musicality. They are optimised for use in public address and recording applications. They offer a very natural sound, good isolation from ambient noise sources, and can handle sound pressure levels up to 160 dB SPL. The supercardioid capsule provides a more pronounced directionality than the cardioid, for better isolation of the source from ambient noise. It is specifically designed to enhance the vocal range, and in fact takes the best of both directional patterns: the front lobe of the supercardioid ensures precise focus on the sound source, while the rear lobe, which is smaller than that of a 'normal' supercardioid, ensures minimal pick-up of ambient sound. The frequency response and phase response are linear, both on and off axis. The wired DPA handle, powered by 48 volts phantom power, has an elegant look and a high quality electronic design. The microphone also features a popscreen with a solid three-stage suspension to eliminate unwanted handling noise. *Modular design The d:facto II sets a new standard for performance and flexibility in directional stage microphones. Thanks to a flexible adapter system, you have the exclusive option of using the same capsule for both wired and wireless applications. To switch to wireless, simply replace the handle with a DPA HF adapter for your brand of wireless system. The d:facto voice microphones are compatible with all the leading names in wireless solutions: Sennheiser, Shure, Sony, Wisycom, Lectrosonics and Line6. The ingenuity of DPA Microphones' HF adapter system is unmatched in the market. It protects your investment in fantastic sound quality for years to come. The modular design of the d:facto II series allows you to change capsules as easily as adapters. Another advantage is that this change does not result in any loss or change in sound quality.
