The D80 is a 4-channel amplifier capable of high power levels designed for sedentary or mobile environments. The D80 - which fits into 2 rack units - is designed to work with all speakers in the d&b range and features a linear mode. Each channel can benefit from a fully parameterisable delay function of up to 10 s (= 3440 m/11286 ft), and two 16-band EQs with optional parametric, asymmetric, shelving or notch filtering. The D80 features a colour TFT touchscreen for quick access to the various menus, plus a rotary digital encoder for fine-tuning. The front panel and integrated touchscreen of the D80 amplifier are tilted upwards to facilitate operation when placed low. The equivalent ratio between the input signal and the amplifier's output channels allows greater flexibility of application, especially for stage monitor, frontfill or effects channels. The LoadMatch function built into the D80 amplifier compensates for the electrical properties of speaker cables without the need for an additional conductor. The result is more accurate acoustic reproduction over a bandwidth of up to 20 kHz, with no effect on tonal balance for cable lengths of up to 70 m (230 ft).
